FlowXtract
The FlowXtract is a part removal tool designed to remove finished parts from your work envelope whether they're wet, dry, clean, or dirty.
It features two methods for lifting parts; a flexible vacuum puck as well as an industrial magnet for any ferrous materials. We have also incorporated an exhaust port for blowing off or drying your completed parts.
This product was developed as a result of extensive end user feedback and is available exclusively with a Flow waterjet.
Flow Shields
Shields help keep your work area clean. The shield kit is the simplest to use and most effective kit in the industry.
These lightweight shields slide easily across most catchers. With so many models and variations of Flow machines and catcher tanks in the world, it is good to know that the shield plexi and comfortable grips can easily be modified on your waterjet to custom fit your machine.
The plexiglass shield is bent at the top in an attractive J shape that allows the shields to function 3 ways:
- The shape allows the shield to hang on the front of the catcher when not in use.
- The J shape allows any of the shields to hang on the front of the Flying Bridge, Mach3b, Mach3b-sc, or Mach4b machines.
- The shape further protects the operator and work area from transient water.
We highly recommend that you check your machine and catcher to ensure proper fit. If the standard J
Shields will not fit properly to contain most of the transient spray, extra long J shields can be ordered.
Please specify if extra long shields are requested (an additional 10 inches). These extra long shields will
require customization (very simple trimming and drilling of the plexiglass) by you.
Kit includes:
- 4 shields
– ¼" clear plexiglass
– 1" radius J bend
- 2 removable handles per shield made of thick easy-slide plastic
- 2 bolt hook extensions – these bolts replace the lower bolts on the front face of the machine tool bridge (Mach3b, Mach3b-sc, or Mach4b) and allow a shield to hang from the front of the bridge to travel with the beam and contain transient spray.
- Extra long shields are available for custom fit machine!
Flow Low-Profile Fixture Clamps
These low profile clamps are adjustable to hold material from thin sheet to 1.5" thick. Beyond 1.5" thick it is rare to require any hold-down force since the part is heavy and the abrasive waterjet cutting force is low.
The low profile design provides greater mobility of the machine within the cutting environment.
- 4 each stainless steel clamps
- Stainless steel retention shaft and aluminum Tbar to fix the clamps to Flow standard 4" thick material support slats
Laser Edge Finder
FLOW's laser edge finder allows a waterjet operator to precisely position their FLOW waterjet at an exact position on the workpiece being cut. To use it, the waterjet operator simply slides the laser's EZ collet over the mixing tube where it will remain firmly in place.
Then, using the keyboard to move the machine until the laser light shows that the light is at the edge of the material, the edge finder can sight the true edge of the material. In the case of a circle the operator jogs the machine until the light is in the center of the circle to locate its true center.
Once this is complete, the operator uses FlowPro to quickly record these locations as one of the 10 user-definable home positions for the machine. The operator then slides the laser off of the mixing tube, ensures the correct standoff distance is set, and starts the waterjet process.
Note: As with any mechanical edge finder, accuracy of the laser edge finder depends in part on the skill of the operator. For waterjet operators with advanced skills the estimate repeatable accuracy is 1/1000" ~ 0.02mm. The unit will from works from 1"- 4" ~ 25mm – 100mm away from the workpiece.
