Laser Edge Finder
Flow's exclusive Laser Edge Finder allows a waterjet operator to precisely position their Flow waterjet at an exact position on the workpiece being cut. The custom design allows the laser to easily slide onto the cutting nozzle for positioning and quickly removed to start production.
To use it, the waterjet operator simply slides the laser's EZ collet over the mixing tube where it will remain firmly in place. Then using the keyboard to move the machine until the laser light shows that the light is at the edge of the material to locate the true edge of the material or in the case of a circle the operator jogs the machine until the light is in the center of the circle to locate its true center.
Once this is complete, the operator uses FlowMaster® to quickly record these locations as one of the 10 user definable home positions for the machine. The operator then slides the laser off of the mixing tube, ensures the correct standoff distance is set, and starts the waterjet process.
