The Dynamic Contour Follower™ (DCF) allows for automatic setting and tracking of the stand-off distance between the mixing tube tip and the material being cut, allowing for more efficient and accurate part cutting.
Three independent legs transmit height variations in cutting material in full 360 degree movement on the XY plane. Variations in the XY plane are communicated to the Z-axis producing immediate adjustments in the stand-off height to maintain the ideal cutting environment. It works with both conventional Flow Waterjet Systems and Flow Dynamic Waterjet systems.
With the advanced pivoting design, the Dynamic Contour Follower works whether the cutting head is vertical or non-vertical (as when the Dynamic Waterjet with Active Tolerance Control is active).
The Dynamic Contour Follower is exclusively designed to work in conjunction with the Paser ECL Plus cutting head system with 3 inch mixing tubes, and with Dynamic Waterjet machines with 4 inch mixing tubes.
Optional Collision Sensors
In addition to setting nozzle tip to material standoff height, the Dynamic Contour Follower can be used with an optional collision sensor - designed to detect and prevent collisions with obstructions that could damage the cutting head and mixing tube.
The collision sensor ring snaps onto the Dynamic Contour Follower. The ring contains a contact sensitive tape switch that is depressed by contact with an object. When a collision is about to occur, both the waterjet stream and cutting head motion will stop.
