Flow Demonstrates Powerful, Accurate Waterjet Cutting at CMTS October 17-20, 2011
Live Demonstrations in Booth 1726
KENT, Wash., Sept. 23, 2011 – Flow International Corporation (NASDAQ: FLOW) will conduct live demonstrations of the combined power of HyperPressure™ technology and the advanced motion system of Dynamic Waterjet® at the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show in booth number 1726. The show will be held at the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto, Ontario, October 17-20, 2011.
Pressure equals productivity. Flow's HyperJet pump, rated at 94,000 psi, delivers continuous operating pressure at an incredible 87,000 psi. Just as increased wattage allows lasers to increase cut speed, waterjets equipped with HyperPressure systems cut as much as 50% faster or more than conventional waterjets. Parts are cut faster, with a lower cost per part, improving production efficiency.
As the leader in waterjet technology, Flow invented abrasive waterjet cutting in 1979. Recognizing the inherent errors caused by a non-rigid (waterjet) cutting tool, Flow developed Dynamic Waterjet to eliminate taper errors and stream lag, bringing unparalleled accuracy and speed to 2D cutting. Advanced SmartStream™ mathematical models work behind the scenes to tilt the head to the side to eliminate taper and tilt it forward to control the stream. The resulting cut speed is 2 to 4 times faster than conventional abrasive waterjets while producing parts with far higher precision.
Flow will demonstrate these two industry leading technologies on its Mach 3 waterjet. The Mach 3 is part of Flow's Mach Series of waterjets offering the widest range of waterjet machine capabilities at different price points in the industry.
The Mach 3 is powered by FlowMaster®, the world's most popular waterjet programming and control software due to its ease of use and productivity. Combining HyperPressure technology and Dynamic Waterjet with FlowMaster provides manufacturers with a powerful and accurate, yet easy to use cutting system.
