Waterjet Cutting

Setting New Standards

Waterjet Cutting - Composite SampleIn the wake of these inefficiencies, waterjet technology has emerged, setting new standards in composite manufacturing.

Flow waterjet systems eliminate most of the cutting problems associated with advanced composites.

Because abrasive waterjet's cut by erosive action rather than friction and shearing, it leaves a finished edge free of frayed or delaminated areas. This minimizes the need for secondary finishing.

The waterjet's low operating temperature doesn't affect the materials it cuts, despite the abrasive waterjet's impressive cutting speed.

Composites cut mechanically at one inch per minute can be cut by the waterjet at 15 to 30 inches per minute.
